Final settlement prices determined for power futures contracts

On August 2, 2010, with the cooperation of theMoscow Energy Exchange and RTS Group, the first futures contracts on the average power price index in the Center hub (ECBM-7.10 and ECPM-7.10) and in the Ural hub (EUBM-7.10 and EUPM-7.10) were settled.

In accordance with the contracts’ specifications the following final settlement prices were calculated for:

• Futures on the average power price index in peak load hours at the "Center" hub – RUB1,088.02 per MWh;
• Futures on the average power price index in basic load hours at the "Center" hub - RUB934.72 per MWh;
• Futures on the average power price index in peak load hours at the "Ural" hub - RUB1,128.24 per MWh;
• Futures on the average power price in basic load hours at the "Ural" hub - RUB966.39 per MWh.

July power futures were trading for 30 trading days. During this period 805 trades representing 1,883 contracts were executed. Out of this number 216 contracts were held until expiry and were settled for a total of RUB69,471,298.

Currently, the Moscow Energy Exchange offers 8 futures contracts on the average power price index.
